Here at Oakridge Acres we raise Plains Bison. We started our Bison herd 6 years ago. We are currently at 30 head of animals.
Our animals are free range which means they are allowed to roam at will through the fields. We do not use antibiotics or growth stimulants. In the event of an illness our first defence is homeopathic medicines. Our Plains bison are the very animals that roamed the prairies of yesteryear. They are fed grass/hay and live in the great outdoors.
Bison meat is a nutrient dense food because of the proportion of protein, fat, mineral, and fatty acids to its caloric value. You are welcome to come to the farm and see first hand our herd of bison including Tatonka, our herd bull .
