Black Angus Beef

Here at Oakridge Acres we raise purebred

Black Angus cattle as well as bison. Black Angus beef is selected for the natural fine marbling that is present in the meat. This contributes to juicy, tender and exceptionally flavourful meat and is featured in many top end steak house restaurants. We also like Black Angus for their natural mothering traits and their ability to adapt to the outdoor environment.


Our animals are free range which means they are allowed to roam at will through the fields. We do not use antibiotics or growth stimulants. In the event of an illness our first defence is homeopathic medicines. Our cattleā€™s diet consists of 80% gmo free grass/hay and approx. 20% gmo free barley. Our Plains bison are the very animals that roamed the prairies of yesteryear. They are fed grass/hay and also live in the great outdoors.

Bison meat is a nutrient dense food because of the proportion of protein, fat, mineral, and fatty acids to its caloric value. You are welcome to come to the farm and see first hand our herd of Black Angus cows, calves, Mr. Angus as well as our herd of bison and definitely Tatonka, who we refer to as Mr. Bison.
